Living room pictures

Well my client's home that loves all things red for decor is done. It is definitely has a Miami hotel vibe with a touch of Breakfast at Tiffany's. Over the next couple of days I will be posting pictures from different parts of her home. She topped the finish off with a cocktail party to unveil the outcome with wonderful lavishing cheesecake and champagne. Everyone was thrilled and I hope you will be too!

There is something about a suit that I just adore, especially a vintage one (you all know that)! I recently ran across this lovely yellow 60's Jackie O suit, and fell in love with it! It is a 3 piece ensemble with sequins and rhinestones on the vest. It is in superb condition, but there is one thing wrong. Not my size so I can't keep it for myself!!!!!!!!!

My Love for South Carolina

There is something so simple and serene about the south. Every year my family from New Jersey takes a trip to South Carolina, which my mom's and dad's home state to visit the family. We have so much fun, BBQs, shopping, and most of all spending quality time with family that we don't see or a regular basis. This piece is land is part of my grandmother's land behind here house. Some days I would just stand and graze into the sky. It is a place where I can go and read a book or sit and right my thoughts away. I love South Carolina and can't wait to go back soon......

I love it when I come across an item that has a label attached to it. Researching is part of what I do everyday, and it adds more to my knowledge as a vintage dealer more and more. So today up for sale in the Etsy boutique is this lovely Tapestry purse by handbag designer Hilde Walborg. She established her business in the 1940's in none other than NYC. There were handbags made in Belgium, France, and in later years Hong Kong.

I really wish I could come up with something that didn’t require hours of time but really, when I found la VIA I knew it was the perfect place for me. So I am still working on a decorating project that I just love. Of course scouting for vintage clothing and accessories for women is my first love, but I also love decorating as well. My client lves red, black, white and of course tiffany blue. She wanted this Miami vibe for the living room, bed room, and the bathroom (which is done) if you remember the post showing the boudior. So for the kitchen, it was painted tiffany blue take a peak at the pics to see the color and the wall of disco for the living. So Fun!

As you all know I love all that is vintage and vintage inspired, so when I stumbled upon this website Warby Parker I was in heaven!. Well not for myself personally, but for my mom. She is in need of glasses and keeps wearing these frumpy old frames. My mom helps me every Friday at my studio with all aspects of the business, but can't see to save her life.

I am still sifting through the great finds from the Opera singer Inez Bull. Another find was a fabulouse Gunne Sax edwardian style dress that is cream lace and hunter green velvet. I really love this one! Wow is all I can say about the 20's opera coat from a store that was found in the 1870's named Best & Co. The coat is a gold silk brocade design and is throughout the entire coat. It is still in great condition with a big round collar that can stand up or down.

Dame Inez Bull Estate

I recently went to a great estate sale and found so many lovely pieces that belonged to a great woman by the name of Inez Bull. I was shocked to find out that she was a pianist, writer, and museum owner. She was the ancestor of a great violinist Ole Bull, from which a museum was created in the memory of him. Inez Bull performed in front of many crowds, including royalty, cruise ships, and more. She taught at the Julliard Institute of Musical Arts and sat on many boards such as The Victorian Society.

Miami Style Decor

Over the past months I have been working with a design client who loves Miami (me too) and wants parts of her home to mirror the decor and life style of that wonderful city. She wanted her bathroom pink and aqua marine colors!!!!! That was a task to find the marine color but the pink was no problem. So of all places I stumbled upon the marine color (Walmart)!!!!!!!!! Can you imagine? My mother was with me and we were sooooo happy that I can finally get the project started now that the color was found. So I incorporated sea shells, sand, blue beads in a large glass vase and it came out fabulous. For the walls I found small, medium, and large silver and pink reflective mirror adhesives. The lighting I purchased from HomeGoods, which was a cut out silver design cylinder lamp that I placed on top of the toilet for sexiness! I think that it came out nice and vibrant and it was just what she wanted.

Behind The Scenes At Work

It is a new year and I have made some changes for the better, well in my opinion. I am in the process of moving things around in my studio space to make it a more conducive space. I have tons of merchandise for the boutique and no place to put it. UGHHHH! So what is a girl to do? Hubby and I talked about getting a bigger space sometime this year after all of our plans are in place as far as the expansion of the business. The goal is to have all of the what I do have online which is roughly about 500 or so pieces including, clothes, shoes, purse, jewelry and more. We are also talking about expanding to a mens vintage line as well.

I know I know I know it has been so long since my last post!!!!!!! So many things have happened. Where do I begin. First things first I want to say rest in peace to my beloved daddy!!! You are surely missed and words can't express how much you have taught me in my 33 years of life. The love, the trust, the believing in me when I did not believe in myself, showing me what the tru meaning of a man is. I love my dad for all of the above and then some. God has another angel with him now so I guess I can't be upset about that now can I?

Today added to the boutique among many was this lovely black 30's dress. Well I really purchased it for myself, but it was too small for me so off it goes. It sort of reminds me of a matrix dress only because it has a high neck, many darts to show off your curves, and 4 pockets. The material is very odd, a shiny black material but does not feel like polyester or nylon.

Obsessed With Rachel Zoe

I am totally hurt by what Taylor did to Rachel!!!!!!! I knew that Taylor was not going to last in the Zoe camp much longer but wow what a shock. How could you back stab someone that developed you into this world of fashion. Taylor was just mean and selfish and I am glad to see her go. I have never talked about anyone in a bad demeanor on this blog but I just could not help it. Strewing with the financial records, keeping clothes, and totally being condescending to people, is a sure way out the door. Rachel was toooo nice to her all along but it was because she trusted her with the business. I think that Taylor was becoming jealous of Brad and Rachel's relationship, and just could not handle it any longer. Maybe she felt that Rachel was backstabbing her. Who knows! Rodger is there now to keep things under wrap and I think that he will do a great job at it. Now what I don't understand is how he is going to find time manage his own business and Rachel's as well.

All summer I waited for Tuesday night to come for the season premier and it was well worth it. I told my husband that he and the kids could not speak to me, poured a glass of wine (well two or three), with cheese and crackers, and I was set for the night. My best friend and I love love love the show and I will soon have a girls night just watching the past two seasons!!!!

I aks myself why I did not keep this fabulous summer yellow maxi sundress for myself. My husband always says don't be greedy and stop falling in love with your merchandise, but I find it so hard not too. This dress is fabulous but yet so comfortable and flowing. So after being missing for over a month the lucky Revlon moondrop pendant turns up. This pendant was sold to a customer in the UK and of course I had no indication that it would go missing. Well what really happened was a customs issue. Customs informed the customer that she had to pay a $135 fee to pick her items up from them. What!!!!!! I have never heard of such a thing. Well the customer sent it back to me and boom it is lost. She was so patient during the whole ordeal and even tracked it down!!!! Finally it arrive to me this week. So ladies this emerald green and gold solid perfume pendant by Revlon is up for grabs again.

There is something about the south that I just love. It is peaceful, easy going, and most of all a long way from my home. This past weekend my husband and I traveled to South Carolina to visit my family. We had such a great time, we ate, slept, the kids played in the open fields, and gathered with my family to experience their southern hospitality. The open fields, the farms, the horse, the cows, the long drives just to make it to twon is something that I treasure. Our boys (8 and 5), were so amazed by the beauty. They love the horse most of all.

So I know that I have been away for a while, but now I am back. The House of Le'Moore has been working on new projects and I have to admit my time was all taken by it. But now things are in the works for a travel business that my husband and I will work on together so I am excited!!! Once the I's are dotted and the T's are crossed I will be sure to share the info with you guys. For now I am sad to say that my oh la la Ceil Chapman dress is now gone but certainly not forgotten. What a wonderful dress that was. My mother says that she would have kept it for herself had it been her size, but too bad it wasn't and great for my customer!

Have you waited until the last minute to find something to wear to a function? Well I do that all of the time. It could be that I just want something new, or just can't think about the right outfit, or just have to many clothes and accessories that my closet is too crowded. Whatever the case may be I wish I had this wonderful necklace last weekend when I went to a bridal shower. I went to one of my favorite stores Century 21 because they always have chunky necklaces, but why not when I really needed one. Ha!!!

Have you ever wondered who was wearing a vintage piece that you own? I do all of the time, and get so intrigue by the garment itself. I stumbled across a garment that I had no clue that it was from such a great designer of the 40's and the 50's Ceil Chapman who was rumored to be Marilyn Monroe's favorite designer. Ceil was also a personal designer to Elizabeth Taylor and Judy Holiday. These dresses are exquisite in the best way imaginable. From crepe satins, silk, taffeta, and chiffon, you name it you made it. So the dress that caught my eye and is now in my shop is a wonderful black crepe satin mid length cocktail gown from the 50's from none other than Ceil Chapman.

What a sad time for the McQueen family, for the friends, and for the fashion industry. When love runs deep one will never know what they will do when a loss is experienced. A mother's love is like no other and when it is gone you feel a sense of emptiness. We know that no one will live forever but are we prepared to face the day of being without a beloved one for the rest of our lives. I can clearly say that I don't know!! Alexander was one that loved his mom more than he loved himself.

As fans flock to shops to pick up mementos and sales increase by more than 1000%, they will always have a piece of him to remember and I guess that is most important.

My Beautiful Snow and Shop Update

I woke up this morning to beautiful snow! As I thought about my plans for the day, all I could do was think of snow sledding with my sons. My little four year old is sick so that was out of the question, so we just looked on as the snow kept falling and admired nature. I thought about how I was not able to go to my studio today and work on my shop, this made me turn into a crazy person because I have so much to do in so little time. I love the muted tones of grey and, white, and black. Allen Company gives off a certain feel that makes you want to jump right into the screen and grab a dress or two! Right now I am loving the color pink and my favorite is a 1960's Pink Brocade Wiggle Dress that is just a doll. Today I added a cute and flirty nightie that reminds me of old Hollywood Glam. There was something about the women of yesterday. They would go to bed gorgeous and wake up the same way. Today it seems like we women have overlooked the beauty that we hold and have become lazy (well at least some of us) and not really caring about our presence. I know that we are very busy women with careers and families but let us not forget to take time out and look fabulous!

Right now I want so many things, so it is hard to sell vintage and wanting to keep everything! I came across this simple but fab dress that I want to keep and throw on some cute pumps or a pair of riding boots. It is navy blue with an ascot tie neck and white square through out the entire dress, simple but cute! Uhh the pressure is too much. It is already up for grabs in my shop so of course I would feel bad to take it back. What is a girl to do?

I had this dress in my goodie collection for over a year now. I don't know why, but I am very attached to it. This dress was in a fashion show and the model looked stunning in it!! I thrifted this dress on one of my visits with my family in South Carolina. When I saw it hanging up I just had to have it, and guess what I can't even fit the dress but it was the point of having a beautiful 1950's cocktail dress. When I glance at this dress I think of Hollywood Glam or the Red Carpet, it is just so feminine.

I am a Jersey Girl, but I love NY, I mean who doesn't? So I love to read the New York Times Fashion and Style Blog, and today I was upset. Well there is a vintage shop in Beverly Hills called Lily Et Cie. Why are people nasty? With all of the madness going on in our society, why be a snob. I feel that whatever you have is here today and can be gone tomorrow. From what the NY Times stated Rita Watnick turns her nose up to people that are not the rich and famous that enters her shop. I know I cannot afford one thing in there but what if I just wanted to admire the vintage pieces that I love so much!!! Is that at all wrong?? With the likes of Penelope Cruz and Renee Zellweger wearing selections from her shop and 30 years in the establishment I guess one can be happy for success, but not at the cost of someone else's feelings.

Shop Makeover

I tried and it is not working for me. What I mean is that I tried with a new mannequin Vonda is her name, she is silver and nicely shaped but she just does not fit into the esthetics of my shop. I really don't know what possessed me to purchase her to be honest. Maybe because I was starting the business over again on Etsy and wanted a new look. Well I am going back to my old dress form mannequin which is what I started off with. I feel that the mannequin Vonda is just too furturistic and my old one (named Mellie today by my best friend Kelly) is a better fit for vintage clothing. So now I am in the process of taking new and old pictures on my mannequin Mellie. My studio is in disarray, but certainly worth it for the love of vintage.

Feeling Pink These Days

I have a wedding to go to of one of my closest friends on May 23rd 2010 and I want to be pink and girly. I am just having the darnest time figuring out what to wear. I was sitting here on Etsy of course looking for some pink vintage dresses. Since I am a lover of all things vintage, I want to wear a vintage dress for that one of a kind feel. Wishful Thinking for Vintage Furniture

Pretty soon my hubby and I will have to move. I am excited and can't wait but here is the dilemma, I want vintage furniture!!!!!!! While hubby loves contemporary designs I sway towards vintage everything. He wants to go shopping for all new furniture and get rid of what we have for a brand new start, well the furniture that we now have is from our old apartment before we brought this house that we have now, which I really can care less for and he can too!! You see my mother had a big influence on my likes when I first moved out and and the designs are more traditional which is fine for some but not for me. We have a red suede couch and a red printed design smaller chair in the living room from Italy which is fine but the kids have since ruined that(two boys). That would be the only piece that we would take but can't even take it now. My hopes and wishes would be from the vintage inspiration that I put together from Polyvore.

I am loving urban outfitters right now at this moment!!! Why, well I will tell you why because of the vintage inspired pieces that they have. I went there today in Montclair NJ (closes one to me) and I found so many pieces I just wanted to buy. Now I really love vintage clothing, but I also love when a store can cultivate vintage wear into modern style. One garment that I am loving is this Pins and Needles Water Color Chiffon Blouse . This blouse reminds me of a 1930's blouse so much that I fell head over heals, it was like love at first site. LOL It comes in a ivory color, polka dot, and floral design to choose from. Take a peak and if you love vintage clothing you will love this blouse too!

I love when I find the perfect items to add to the House of Le'Moore collection! During the holidays I was so sick but I did manage to get out once and when I did boy oh boy was it worth it. Well not really because I was sicker than before I left the house. LOL the price we pay for a passion. Anyway I found pieces that I could not resist and even some new ones with tags as well. I just added some to the shop and more coming today so stay tuned! There is a dress that I stumbled upon that is out of this world but for some reason I can't get it to sit properly on either one of my mannequins so I have to figure out another avenue. But the dress is brown and cream neutrals with tiers of ruffles at the bottom just waiting for the red carpet I wish. LOL Here is a pick of it but it will not be in the shop until a later date girls.

The House of Le'Moore After Christmas Update

Brown and Blue

You know I love the colors brown and blue and I wish that I could have decorated my table with these colors for the holiday, but unfortunately hubby and I spent too much on Christmas gifts this year that I had to decline my decor joy. We will just have a small party of about 10 people for Christmas this year. I am cooking so of course it will be hectic for me, wrapping gifts, cooking early, getting the house ready, and tending to the boutique will be a task. Here are just a few items on my wish list that I wanted to use on my table, as gift boxes, invites, and decor for the holiday season.

Bye Bye To Christain Dior

Well today I say bye bye to one of my most beloved pieces in the boutique and that is a vintage Christian Dior cream and gold brocade duster. What a marvelous garment, constructed so well and it is still in mint condition! Makes a perfect gift or can be worn as a holiday show stopper. Needless to say I was going to keep it for myself, but my husband hates when I buy and keep! LOL I can't help it it is in my nature to hoarde vintage clothing. I have more pieces coming to the boutique this week that I am excited about too. keep an eye out for them. Also the Christmas sale of 25% is now over but there may be something else in store very soon. Have you ever wanted to pull items from your shop that you love? Well I am sitting here and wonder should I or should I not. You see that is the problem when you love what you do so much that you can not part with it! While sitting under the dryer yesterday at the hair salon, I decided to part with this lovely envelope clutch. It is a stunning grey color and genuine leather with a ribbed flap! I can see myself in wearing it everywhere. I look at it as a neutral color goes with everything in my eyes.

Michelle Obama In Jcrew, To be or Not to Be

I spotted Michelle Obama on Stylist.com wearing this teal colored vintage inspired JCrew coat, and a fabulous pair of flat riding boots. She looks beautiful, fashionable, and comfy, now some would say that she can do away with the belt. I say that she can wear the belt but just not so high up on her waist and maybe close the coat. Other than that I see nothing wrong with the outfit. Michelle's style is classic, but I love to see her in vintage clothing rather that Jcrew. Maybe because I am a vintage clothes lover and love the fact that you can wear a piece of clothing that you will likely not see your next door neighbor wearing!
